Lucas Tay

What?

Hi, I'm Lucas 👋.

I am a final-year undergraduate majoring in Applied Computing at the Singapore Institute of Technology, currently doing a co-op attachment at DBS as a software engineer intern under the treasury & markets technology unit, building a Context-aware Treasury Recommendation Service.

Although my academic background covers a wide range of computing topics, my interests lie specifically in the intersection of software and innovation.

Why?

Beyond just the rapid pace of the tech industry which is exciting, software engineering provides the closest alignment to my strengths, weaknesses and interests as an individual. The process of identifying problems, designing solutions, and building software to solve them is one that i believe this field best provides. Consistent advancements and changes in implementation standards also mean I get to learn perpetually (almost), which is very rewarding.

What started as a see-where-it-takes-me decision has now become a full-fledged journey that keeps me going every day.

Software Engineer Intern @ DBS | GFM Technology

Returned to the GFM Sales team for my final and longest internship stint. My focus now is to build a context-aware recommendation engine for the market dealers to better understand their clients and provide personalized recommendations (proof-of-concept).
